AMHP Mental Health Practitioner - Shrewsbury – Join 3D Recruit
Intro:
Are you an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) with a solid background in mental health social work? 3D Recruit is working with a West Midlands-based local authority to appoint a committed and capable AMHP Mental Health Practitioner to support the AMHP duty desk at The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury. This is a full-time office-based role for up to 20 weeks, with the potential for flexibility by prior agreement.

Key Responsibilities:
Cover and support the AMHP duty desk during business hours, with occasional out-of-hours assessments.
Triaging Mental Health Act assessment referrals in line with legislative and local protocol.
Undertake and support Section 13 visits with other professionals as appropriate.
Provide guidance and support to AMHP candidates currently on placement.
Collaborate with the Mental Health Hospital Discharge Team to assist with Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) and Section 117 planning meetings, if required.
Maintain professional and legislative standards as outlined in the Mental Health Act, Care Act, and associated AMHP codes of practice.

The Redwoods Centre, Somerby Drive, Shrewsbury, SY3 8DS
(Primarily office-based due to the nature of the role; some flexibility may be considered with prior agreement.)
Essential Requirements:
Degree/Masters in Social Work and SWE registration.
Must be a warranted AMHP with recent frontline experience.
Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a permanent role – must be clearly stated on each role on the CV.

In-depth understanding of the Mental Health Act, MCA, and Section 117 responsibilities.
