There are so many opportunities to progress with us!

Our community hospitals, called Intermediate Care Units, support inpatients with short-term recovery and rehabilitation. We aim to provide a service that supports patients to live independently and return home when it is safe for them to do so.

Caravelle Ward including Stroke rehab is a 28 bedded ward that provides short term rehabilitation for individuals over 18 years of age. 10 out of the 28 are Stroke patients. Individuals are referred for rehabilitation following an acute worsening in their health such as infection, an acute hospital admission following illness or surgery, a fall or an adjustment of complex medication. We provide rehabilitation to patients post stroke coming from the acute hospitals. We have both a visiting Geriatric and Stroke Consultant that visits us once a week. We have a wide range of support coming from MDTs such as Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Dietician and Social Workers. All working together for a patient's safe discharge.

We are the main provider of NHS community services across East and West Sussex, with 6,000 staff serving 1.3 million people. We deliver essential care to adults and children, helping them manage their health, avoid hospital admissions, and reduce hospital stays.
