What exactly will you be doing?
As the Infrastructure and Application Support Manager, you will oversee the support and maintenance of AAT’s critical applications, cloud environments, and on-premises infrastructure. Leading a team of IT support analysts and an infrastructure engineer, you will ensure business application and infrastructure availability, performance, and security. You will drive enhancements in IT service delivery, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to support AAT’s business goals. This role is pivotal in our journey to becoming a cloud-first organisation and requires a blend of strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience in infrastructure management and application support.
Major objectives
Ensure stability and functionality of business-critical applications, both on-premise and in the cloud.
Design, build, and maintain robust and secure cloud solutions.
Oversee daily operations of IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and compliance.
Develop and enforce infrastructure policies, procedures, and documentation.
Manage incident management processes and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system performance and user satisfaction.
Oversee the service desk operations and ensure SLAs and KPIs are maintained and reported on.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely updates, patches, and upgrades for business applications.
What are we looking for?
Extensive experience in IT infrastructure and application support.
Proven leadership skills in managing a team of IT support analysts and an infrastructure engineer.
Strong knowledge of ITIL principles and proficiency in managing cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem, including Windows Server, SQL, Entra ID, and Office 365 suite.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a forward-thinking mindset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Strong customer focus and commitment to follow through tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with a range of stakeholders.
What are the benefits?
At AAT we believe in treating our staff well and this is reflected in our wide-ranging benefits, which include:
Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in our London office) and opportunities for further flexible working.
25 days’ annual leave with the opportunity to buy and sell, increasing one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days plus bank holidays.
Great pension scheme whereby AAT will contribute up to 10.15%, life assurance and critical illness cover.
Health cash plan.
Regular wellbeing initiatives.
Enhanced maternity and shared parental leave contributions of up to 6 months’ full pay depending on the length of service.
Closing Date: The planned closing date for this role is 13 June 2025 at 17.00, however, we reserve the right to close the role earlier than planned.
It’s an exciting time to join AAT and we would love you to join us on our journey. In 2023 we achieved one-star company status in the Best Companies survey, and we have recently launched our strategy to 2030.
We are committed to being an inclusive and welcoming place to work. We encourage applications from diverse candidates and make recruitment decisions based on skill and experience. We have a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Champions group, which leads on our D&I strategy and organise events to celebrate and raise awareness. We are a disability-confident committed employer and have signed up to the Race at Work Charter. We have also signed up for the Women in Finance Charter, and in 2022 we exceeded our target for appointing females into senior positions.
