Were working with a collaborative procurement service that operates across multiple local authorities in the North West. They're on a mission to make public procurement smarter, fairer, and more impactful and they're looking for a Procurement Officer to join their growing team.
Location: Procurement Officer
Remote-first with kit collection on day one
Quarterly in-person meet-ups
Regular team collaboration via Teams
Salary & Progression: Procurement Officer
Band 47 Career Graded: £28,500 £39,800 (depending on experience/qualifications)
Clear progression path into Category Manager, Business Manager, and leadership roles (£44k£50k+)
The Role: Procurement Officer
You'll deliver procurement projects that support a wide range of public services, from children's social care to IT, HR, or environmental services all aligned by procurement category, not geography.
The role is hands-on and collaborative. You'll support everything from early-stage market engagement to evaluation, supplier onboarding, and contract award all with a strong focus on value for money, social impact, and innovation.
Your day-to-day might include:
Managing small procurement projects or supporting larger strategic ones
Writing specifications and tender documents
Evaluating supplier submissions
Supporting audits and governance
Working closely with stakeholders, contract owners, and your peers
Who Were Looking For: Procurement Officer
We're open to people at different levels of procurement experience, so whether you're just starting out or ready to step into more complex project work, wed love to hear from you.
You'll need:
13+ years of procurement experience (public sector preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with procurement tools, systems, or legislation
Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with suppliers
Commitment to continuous learning you'll be supported through CIPS Level 46 as you progress
