VACANCY – VAN DRIVER
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Van Driver to join a reputable Tool Hire company in Yate. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of tools and equipment using a van with trailer. The position plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring equipment is handled professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Load, transport, and deliver tools and equipment to customer sites using a van with trailer
• Complete delivery and collection paperwork, ensuring accuracy and professionalism
• Carry out basic checks and maintenance of tools and equipment before delivery
• Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner at all times
• Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle and trailer
• Assist in the yard with general tool handling, stock movements, and checks when required
• Communicate with the Hire Controller and operations staff regarding schedules and delivery updates
• Uphold health and safety standards during loading, driving, and unloading
Candidate Requirements:
• Full UK Driving Licence (category B+E preferred for trailer towing)
• Previous van driving experience (ideally in a tool or equipment hire environment)
• Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude
• Basic mechanical understanding and tool familiarity desirable
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
