Key ResponsibilitiesPerson-Centred Care
Empower individuals with learning disabilities through personalised, strengths-based support
Serve as a Link Worker to develop and maintain support plans that enhance independence and well-being
Assist with all aspects of personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
Oversee the safe administration of medication
Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, and external partners
People Management
Support the onboarding, training, and performance management of support staff
Create and manage staff rotas to ensure consistent care delivery
Flexibility & Innovation
Adapt to the evolving needs of individuals with complex care needs, including those presenting challenging behaviour
Contribute to service development, project improvement, and innovative practices
Compliance & Standards
Comply with health and safety legislation and infection prevention procedures
Implement safeguarding policies, including those related to the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Liberty Protection Safeguards
Maintain accurate records using digital and paper systems
Conduct audits and report findings as required
Additional Duties
Lead operational responsibilities during your shift
Perform light domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry
Drive and maintain vehicles for service use (if required)
Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role to meet the needs of the individuals and the service

Person Specification Criteria Essential Assessed By Qualifications NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field
ExperienceTeamwork; 2+ years direct support experience; medication administration. Understanding of legislation (Care Act, MCA, LPS, CQC regulations); Risk management
Skills and Abilities for Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism. TEffective communication (verbal, written, pictorial). Ability to manage staff while delivering care. Physical capability to assist with personal care and mobility support. Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems independently. Willingness to travel and work across multiple settings.
Other Requirements:
Casual car user designation
Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in duties
Willingness to work across different care environments throughout the county
