Background of department/role

We are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant within our busy Housekeeping Team, which is part of the Estates and Facilities Department at Canterbury Christ Church University.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, hard-working and efficient person to work across the Canterbury campus in residential and/or non-residential buildings. Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for these roles. You will deliver high standards of customer care, offering an excellent housekeeping service wherever you are working, and to ensure that buildings are kept in a clean and tidy condition.

There is an expectation that when entering a room or location to clean, all staff will first carry out a survey of the room, noting any damage or maintenance required to be repaired by Estates, and carpets/furniture/windows that need cleaning, are reported to their supervisor.

As a member of the Facilities team, there is a collective responsibility to ensure that all rooms are presented in the best possible manner.

Experience of working in a cleaning environment and basic IT knowledge would be advantageous.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working shift patterns wherever possible, but there may be occasions when cover is required outside your normal working patterns such as weekend or bank holiday is needed.

Part Time Post (16 hours per week)
Mondays-Thursdays, 10.00-13.00, Fridays 10.00-14.00

Uniform will be provided.
