Summary
WR Fundraising Recruitment is delighted to continue our long standing relationship with one of the best supported charities in the region.
As part of their next phase of development we’re looking to fill a newly created In Memory Fundraiser role –
Working as part of a high achieving individual giving team and a wonderfully supportive and experienced line manager, we’re looking for someone with in-memory experience to work alongside legacy fundraising, individual giving, marketing and the wider income generation team.
Acting as the in-mem champion for the charity, the successful candidate will have the skills, knowledge and experience to shape the success of this role.
In Memory Fundraiser
Full Time, Permanent
East London / Essex with flexible and hybrid working options
Up to circa £39,500 per annum
Due to the location of the charity, access to a vehicle preferred.
Duties will include:
• Lead on the development, promotion, and management of new and existing in-memory giving initiatives, including Memory Tree, MuchLoved tribute funds, Remembrance events, and in memory campaigns.
• Identify opportunities to grow in-memory giving income through innovative and compassionate engagement strategies and creative supporter journeys.
• Act as the primary point of contact for families, friends, and supporters engaging with in-memory giving.
• Support the planning, promotion and delivery of in-memory events, such as Light Up a Life, Memory Tree Stewardship events, or other tribute initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure supporter engagement campaigns reach new and existing audiences
• Develop long-term relationships with in-memory supporters to encourage continued engagement
• Work closely with the Individual Giving team to align in-memory giving initiatives with the broader strategy.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Have previous experience in relationship management and fundraising within - specifically with in-memory giving
• Knowledge of in-memory giving practices and trends in the charity sector
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage compassionately with supporters
• Ability to develop meaningful and long-term relationships with supporters
• Knowledge of principles of relationship marketing techniques
