Role – Social Worker (Justice Services) Location – GCHSCP, Justice Services within the three localities, North East, North West and South Contract Status – Permanent At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) we are launching a new team in Justice Services to meet the demand of managing Registered Sexual Offenders subject to a Community Payback Order. We are currently recruiting for Social Workers to work within this new team in preparation for the introduction of the Multi-Agency Public Protection System (MAPPS). We are looking for qualified Social Workers who are committed to making a real difference to the lives of people. Seeking energetic, talented, resilient and committed Social Workers to secure outcomes. You will have sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice. You will be confident in managing risk and looking for innovative ways to promote independence and link people into the local community. The role of the Social Worker in the MAPPS Team is to supervise registered sex offenders while practicing within the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) framework. Experience of managing MAPPA cases, and training in risk assessments (RM2K and SA07) is desirable for this role. As this is a city-wide resource, applicants should have the ability to work flexibly across various locations. Applicants must have a developed and up-to-date working knowledge of current practice issues within the field of Public Protection, they should also have a keen interest in the development of service delivery within this area of work. There will be a requirement to meet key performance indicators and adhering to the compliance and governance arrangements of the multi-agency information management tool, Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) and in preparation for MAPPS. Applicants must either possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks. Successful candidates will also be required to be vetted to Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) level 2. Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees. These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
