Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities To provide comprehensive assessment of mental health specific to the needs of the service To have experience of and specialist knowledge on interventions and EI quality standards in order to be able to lead in clinical area. To receive appropriate management supervision To demonstrate excellent communication skills. To establish professional links with other care groups and professionals. To administer medication within NMC guidelines and the Trusts Medicines Code. To work in partnership with other agencies to gain the best person-centred outcome for the individual. To be able to communicate with and meet the needs of families and carers as appropriate to the care group and individual client. To ensure appropriate records of assessment and treatment are regularly maintained which adhere to professional guidelines. To manage a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs and undertake case management/lead professional/CPA as needed. To participate in all clinical, business and service meetings as appropriate, to contribute to effective team functioning, service delivery and development. To take a lead on clinical matters and policy development relating to nursing practice. To provide professional leadership within the service, working with Team Managers and Service Manager for the planning and delivering of nursing practice within the locality team and the wider service delivery. To participate in recruitment and selection process of staff when appropriate. To have good awareness of the protocols and Trust policies and protocols within nursing and the Nursing Strategy. To develop and participate in the delivery of a clinical supervision structure for team members. To be part of a senior nurses group for on-going support and development as appropriate. Working with the Team Manager, to ensure nursing staff within the team are compliant with NMC regulations. To take a lead on audits within the team and support the development of nonmedical prescribing. To use knowledge of practice development principles and strategies for the promotion of quality developments and efficient use of resource. Promote and use evidence-based approaches to improve practice. Critically evaluates and applies research findings pertinent to patient care, team management and outcomes. Participates in promoting quality through development of collaborative and innovative approaches to health care delivery. The post holder will work collaboratively with all disciplines as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assure a high standard of care for patients/clients and their relatives/carers
