Summary

PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 1. Specialist Duties / Appointed Expert 1.1 HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist Specialising in Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation protection 2. Other Clinical Scientific This section to include responsibilities for other aspects of clinical scientific work in support of Imaging with Ionising Radiations 2.1 Analyse data and make professional judgments based on the findings to inform safe and appropriate clinical use of the equipment. 2.2 Maintain and develop protocols and procedures for testing of x-ray equipment, for both the high level physics tests, and routine testing carried out by radiographers in other departments, in accordance with regional and national guidelines, to satisfy legislative requirements. 2.3 Develop and maintain IT solutions for departmental activities. This includes development and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases, simple networking and specialist analytical tools. 2.4 In liaison with the Medical Physics Expert(s) and senior staff from other departments, assist in drafting specifications for, and in the evaluation of, major items of radiological equipment. 2.5 Provide written and oral reports to staff and customers providing advice and interpretation where required. ***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as Priority and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
