As an Elective Home Education (EHE) Visitor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that every child receives the education they deserve. Within the Inclusion Support Service, we’re committed to supporting families who choose to home educate their children, and we work closely with them to ensure that children who are being electively home educated receive a suitable and effective full-time education. Much of our work is carried out in the north of the county, so if you're based in this area or happy to travel to this area, that would be a plus.

What you'll be doing:
• Providing guidance and advice: Work with families to ensure the education provided is suitable and promote skills and learning.
• Assessing and advising: Assess, advise, and promote the development of EHE children’s education, including those with special educational needs.
• Planning and conducting visits: Plan and carry out visits with families, develop action plans, manage your timetable in liaison with the EHE Co-ordinator, and provide visit reports for the family.
• Multidisciplinary approach: Use a multidisciplinary approach to fulfil the Local Authority’s statutory duty to ensure no child is missing education, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and government guidance.

What we’re looking for:
• Qualifications & experience: A-level qualification (or equivalent) and experience working with children, young people, and families.
• Interpersonal & communication skills: Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and ability to handle difficult situations through mediation and negotiation.
• Organisational & problem-solving skills: Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Values & empathy: Commitment to equality and inclusion, honesty, integrity, and empathy.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in IT (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Why join us?
• Make a meaningful impact on children's lives by ensuring they receive the education they deserve.
• Work with a dedicated and passionate team committed to safeguarding and supporting children.
• Receive an extensive induction period designed to set you up for success, along with a wealth of opportunities for professional development.
• Access to Health Assured's comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme to support your physical and mental wellbeing, including 24/7 telephone support, a suite of online resources, and legal and financial advice.
• Competitive benefits package, including generous annual leave entitlement, occupational sick pay, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
