Summary

Cabinet Office Digital is the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) hub for the Cabinet Office. This role sits within the Chief Technology Office within Cabinet Office Digital. We are responsible for architecture and engineering across the Cabinet Office and own the newly commissioned Technical Design Authority for the department. We work in collaboration with individual business units and Arms Length Bodies to align technology and operate platforms for the benefit of the products and teams dependent upon them. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Cabinet Office Digital Platforms estate.

The Cabinet Office is seeking a skilled and dynamic Application Operations Engineer to oversee and optimise the use of our software as a service (Saas) platforms within the department. The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of SaaS software to enhance collaboration and productivity across teams. This role is integral to ensuring that our systems contribute effectively to the strategic goals of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and configure SaaS tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, Jira, Confluence, and other associated applications;
  • Oversee the ongoing development and support of products, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the department;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that enhance workflow and processes;
  • Develop training programmes and resources to enhance user proficiency, ensuring best practices are adhered to;
  • Ensure system integrity and compliance with regulations and policies, particularly in relation to data security and privacy;
  • Monitor and analyse system performance, identifying areas for improvement;
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure effective integration of products within existing systems and infrastructure;
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and updates in technology to leverage new features and capabilities effectively;
  • Track all costs and usage effectively.
