Our company is a small and friendly upcoming case management and care company.
We require an enthusiastic person with a positive attitude and caring nature to provide support to the client and their family. The support worker will receive training and supervision to support them in this role. Experience with epilepsy, night work and children with complex needs is beneficial but not essential. Shadow shifts and training in July and August, with regular shifts (2 nights a week) commencing in September.
Days and Hours: 2 x 11 hour shifts, preferably Monday and Tuesday. Waking nights 9pm-8am.
Roles and Responsibilities
· To maintain client safety at all times and respect the family’s privacy and dignity.
· To provide personal care as part of the clients bed time and morning routine.
· To assist with mobility and transfers using the appropriate manual handling equipment.
· Prepare food and drink in accordance with the clients dietary requirements.
· To carry out domestic duties as necessary.
· To keep accurate records.
· To maintain high standards of safeguarding as well as following policies and procedures.
· Keep up to date with mandatory training.
· To receive a client handover from family and other support workers.
Requirements
· To have good communication skills (both written and oral), including listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the client and their family.
· To be caring, patient and sensitive to the needs of the client and their family.
· To be able to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of the client and their family.
· To be reliable, punctual, and flexible and able to complete a range of shifts.
· To be able to provide personal care when required in a sensitive manner.
· To have an understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities and diversity.
· To be able to work as part of a team or alone.
