Crynodeb
1. To work across various function within planning enforcement, environment health and private sector housing to provide regulatory compliance, in accordance with the Council’s enforcement policies and procedures.
2. Reporting to the Environmental Health Manager, perform duties covering any aspect of health & safety, in regard to the inspection of premises, processes, plant, investigation of incidents & accidents and development of policy for North Devon District Council Corporate Health & Safety as a competent person under the limitations of Regulation 7 & 21 of The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
3. Provide informed professional technical/specialist advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters.
4. Communicate with a range of stakeholders using a range of methods and tools.
5. Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure effective regulatory interventions.
6. Inspect and audit, land, premises, vehicles, processes, at commercial premises, and carry out other forms of intervention.
7. Identify hazards, assess risks to human health and communicate solutions on a range of regulatory matters.
8. Undertake investigations across the range of regulatory teams and take appropriate follow up action in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
9. Obtain and analyse data and interpret results in accordance with relevant standards to determine corrective action.
10. Identify instances of non-compliance with regulations and determine the most appropriate action which may include enforcement and/or escalation to Senior Management.
11. Apply a range of analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve complaints.
12. Assess, interpret, issue and monitor relevant licence and registration requirements, in food and safety, private sector housing, environmental protection, licensing and planning.
13. Act as a consultee in relation to planning and licensing applications.
14. Act as an advocate for promoting and improving place, health, safety and wellbeing of the public.
15. Maintain accurate records and produce reports, including the preparation of evidence for court, where appropriate.
