Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bricklayer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures. Precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Measure and cut bricks or blocks to size using hand and power tools.
Mix mortar or other bonding agents to required consistency.
Lay bricks, blocks, and other materials in horizontal layers, following patterns or designs.
Ensure the structural integrity and alignment of walls and other structures.
Repair and maintain existing masonry structures.
Use levels, plumb bobs, and laser levels to ensure accuracy.
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a bricklayer or similar role.
Ability to read technical drawings and plans.
Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Familiarity with construction safety regulations.
Apprenticeship or relevant vocational training is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of different types of bricks, blocks, and mortar.
Experience with restoration or historical masonry work.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
