We are excited to share that we are looking for a Science Technician to join our department on a permanent, term time, full time basis. The Science department offers A Level (all disciplines), BTEC Level 3 and GCSE Combined courses and T Level’s.
Please note that your salary will be calculated based on the number of term-time weeks and the hours worked. The advertised salary reflects the full academic year.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the science department by preparing and maintaining equipment, managing chemicals safely, and assisting with demonstrations and experiments. The successful candidate will ensure health and safety standards are upheld, maintain stock levels, and carry out minor equipment repairs. You will work closely with teaching staff to support lesson planning and the efficient use of laboratory space, with occasional involvement in school events and departmental meetings.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will bring relevant experience or specialist knowledge that reflects the responsibilities outlined in the job description. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a school, college, or higher education laboratory environment. You should hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science, Maths, and English, and have a good understanding of relevant health and safety policies and codes of practice, such as COSHH and CLEAPSS, as they apply within a laboratory setting.
