Hours: 37.5hrs per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

The Pharmacy at Milton Keynes University Hospital has seen exceptional growth and investment over recent years, both in staff and facilities. As a result, we are excited to be able to offer a new speciality role.

We have several Speciality Principal Pharmacist post – Bank, you will work closely with and manage the relevant Pharmacy Teams and the multidisciplinary teams supporting inpatient areas and virtual wards, to provide pharmacy and medicines related advice as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Medication Safety Officer:
Are you a pharmacist passionate about ensuring medication safety and providing top-tier medicine information? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to improving patient care? Do you have experience in running high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services? If so, we want you to join us. We have recently undertaken a change in the manner in which safety incidence are managed, using the PSIRF model. This focuses on learning from errors, and we are looking for a principal pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy or Medication Safety experience to join the Medicines Use team. You will bring a passion for health and wellbeing with a desire to support both patients and staff of the hospital to manage their health and improve from incidence. You will have an eye for service development, system wide learning and governance processes. You will need strong clinical skills and a good knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice to be able to liaise with prescribers and nurses to optimise the use of medicines and reduce the risk of medication safety incidence to ensure the best possible patient outcomes

Medicine Information and Safety Pharmacist:
Are you a pharmacist passionate about ensuring medication safety and providing top-tier medicine information? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to improving patient care? Do you have experience in running high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services? If so, we want you to join us. We are specifically looking for someone with extensive experience in hospital pharmacy or medicine information, with a strong understanding of medication safety practices and the latest strategies for investigating medicine information enquires. You will be responsible for leading a team focused on managing medication advise and safety delivering accurate, evidence-based medicine information to the multidisciplinary team.

Principal Pharmacist Respiratory and Gastro:
Are you an experienced pharmacist with a passion for the care of patients in respiratory medicine and gastroenterology? Would you like to be part of our multi-disciplinary team who contribute to the care of these patient groups throughout their hospital journey? Principal Pharmacist Acute Medicine:
Are you an experienced pharmacist with a passion for the care of acute medical patients? Would you like to be part of our multi-disciplinary team who contribute to the care of acutely unwell patients at the very beginning of their hospital journey? We are looking for an outstanding Principal pharmacist’s who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to forging excellent communication between primary and secondary care teams and drive the pharmacy team forward. You will be passionate about helping patients get the best from their medicines, and keen to use your initiative and drive to take opportunities to create an outstanding service and demonstrate leadership around optimal and safe medication use within the MDTs.
The successful applicant will also provide leadership and line management to other pharmacy staff within the team.
