Schedule: 2 x 19.5 per week (Saturday 8.30am-7.00pm and Sunday 9.00am – 7.00pm)hours per week
Pay: AfC Band 2 £12.51 per hour £ 24,465 per year pro rata
We have an exciting opportunity for HSDU Assistantsto join our team on a Permanent basis. This position is well-suited to a Hardworking team player who is looking to gain experience within a healthcare setting
Job Role:
• Dismantling, cleaning, decontaminating inspecting, assembling, packing and sterilizing medical/surgical instruments equipment and endoscopes to the standard required of the department and accredited bodies. Including general housekeeping duties as required.
• Operation of sterilizers, instrument washer/disinfectors endoscope washer/disinfectors/drying cabinets. Undertake the routine testing and maintenance of equipment and the completion of relevant documentation
• Packaging, sealing, labelling decontamination and sterilizing of medical and surgical equipment.
• Liaise with supervisors and colleagues. Exchange and receive any routine information within the Department and with the user departments
• Report any faulty machinery or general faults to a supervisor.

The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and to work to deadlines..
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• Good Numeracy, Literacy skills
• Computer Literate
• Commit to undertake training to enable knowledge of instrument/ endoscope decontamination and sterilisation procedures.
• Good manual dexterity
• Able to communicate effectively, be punctual and reliable
