Crynodeb

We are excited to be recruiting a Team Leader into our Reboot West Team. Do you believe that a consistent, relationship-based, values-led support model is the best way to achieve sustained education, employment and training outcomes for young people?

The Reboot project supports care experienced young people from four local authority areas into meaningful and sustained education, employment, and training. The Reboot support model uses a youth version of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT approach focuses on supporting young people to recognise their own values and determine their goals and aspirations.

In 2023, 1625 Independent People secured pioneering and prestigious funding to support a further 265 care experienced young people for up to 3 years, whilst also undertaking the largest and strongest evaluation ever of a youth unemployment programme of this type. The intention of this evaluation is to test if a long-term therapeutic support model is better for young people, whilst being more cost effective for the government and so to change the system nationally.

We are currently looking for a full-time Team Leader to provide line management for our Reboot Coaches, support the operational management of the project and hold a small caseload of young people based in North Somerset.

Please find full details of how to apply via our website in the advert below. The deadline for application submissions is 23:59, Wednesday 19 June 2025.

If you need an adjustment to be made to any part of the recruitment process, please let us know as soon as possible.

Who are we?
We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people.

What you will be doing:
• As a highly organised and autonomous person you will be assisting the Reboot Operations Manager to lead operational delivery of the Reboot West project. This will involve using your ability to thrive in a busy environment, especially during times of project change.
• If you are passionate about providing supportive, developmental, and motivational line management then this role is for you! You will manage a small team of Coaches, with caseloads of young people living in Bristol and North Somerset.
• Being self-aware and reflective, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a skilled communicator at all levels. These personality traits are essential as this role involves building and maintaining stable and lasting relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
• As someone committed to expanding your knowledge and skills you will be willing to take on lead specialisms within the team and attend relevant training and development opportunities.
• This is also a case-holding position so you will have the opportunity to provide high quality EET and wellbeing support to a small caseload of young people, based in North Somerset, in a psychologically informed way, using ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) informed approaches.

Contract details:
• Hours per week: 37.5 (this represents full time). We are open to considering this role at 30 hours per week (with the salary adjusted pro rata based on 0.8 FTE).
• Contract type: Fixed Term Contract until 28 February 2026
• Pay: £31,586 - £33,366 (NJC scale points 20-23, starting at the bottom of the scale)
• The location: You will be based in our Head Office, in Central Bristol, and the Youth Education Services office in Old Market, Bristol. The role involves managing the relationship with North Somerset local authority and also a small North Somerset-based caseload, so we would welcome applicants based there. There would be hybrid working arrangements, as well as the chance to occasionally work from North Somerset’s office to help facilitate this.

What we are offering:
• An opportunity to work in a psychologically informed environment (PIE) and in a team using ACT as a way of engaging care leavers, with support and supervision from the world leading professional on ACT for adolescents.
• Generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days per annum plus Public and Bank Holidays.

Application information:
• To access the Job Pack and submit an application, please visit the vacancy page on our website.
• You will be asked to answer 5 questions at the end of the Word application form. These are required to ensure your application can be shortlisted.
• Please note the online e-application form cannot be saved so we recommend you prepare your Word application form before you start filling in the e-form.
• ALTHOUGH THE APPLICATION FORM GIVES YOU THE OPTION TO UPLOAD A CV, PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT A CV AS THIS IS NOT NECESSARY AND WILL NOT BE USED IN THIS PROCESS.

Important dates:
• Application deadline closes: 23:59, Thursday 19 June 2025
• If you have not heard from us by the end of the day on Tuesday 24 June 2025, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
• Interviews are on Tuesday 01 July 2025.
