Summary

About the Role: We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated Petrol Station and Off-License Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our petrol station and off-license store. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the store, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Staff Management:
* Hire, train, and supervise petrol station and store staff, including cashiers and sales assistants.
* Assign tasks, manage schedules, and monitor employee performance to ensure efficient operations.
* Foster a positive and motivated work environment that encourages teamwork and high productivity.
* Customer Service:
* Provide excellent customer service by resolving complaints, answering queries, and addressing customer needs.
* Ensure that both the petrol station and the off-license store are welcoming, clean, and well-organized.
* Monitor customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
* Inventory Management:
* Oversee stock levels for both fuel and off-license store products to ensure availability.
* Conduct regular stock checks, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to reduce wastage and prevent stockouts.
* Work with suppliers to negotiate prices and manage deliveries.
* Financial Management:
* Manage daily cash flow and ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation.
* Prepare reports on sales, profits, and expenses.
* Monitor and maintain budgeting and financial goals for the station and store.
* Health and Safety Compliance:
* Ensure the station complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly those related to fuel handling and storage.
* Implement health and safety policies, conduct safety audits, and train staff on emergency procedures.
* Operational Efficiency:
* Ensure that petrol pumps and store registers are in good working condition, coordinating maintenance when necessary.
* Streamline operational processes to maximize efficiency and improve customer experience.
* Handle any operational issues promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
* Regulatory Compliance:
* Ensure the off-license store complies with licensing laws, including age restrictions on alcohol sales, and other relevant regulations.
* Keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure the store’s practices are always in compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a petrol station and off-license store setting.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Good financial acumen and experience managing budgets, sales, and inventory.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in the fuel and retail sectors.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
* Valid driver’s license (preferred but not essential).
