As a member of the confined spaces team you will be responsible for entering, inspecting, and maintaining our confined space assets, as well as supporting our field teams with general maintenance of EA assets, such as debris screens and raised bank defences.
Full training will be provided however a knowledge of confined spaces would be advantageous. You will be required to work in and around water.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You are required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training is given. We will work with you to find a role that suits your interests and circumstances.
We are fully committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We welcome flexible working patterns for all our vacancies.
The team
The confined spaces team works from depots in Leigh and Sale, and is responsible for inspecting and maintaining confined space assets across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Chesire contributing to flood resilience in the region.
In order to work safely the team are required to undertake regular training, and use specialist PPE and equipment such as; dry suits, breathing apparatus, and winches.
Experience/skills required

This role is field based and involves physical work.
You must be comfortable using mobile technology such as iPhones and iPads.
An awareness and understanding of confined spaces work, health and safety risks when working in the field, as well as flood risk would be useful but full training will be provided.
This role covers work within confined spaces and all applicants must be willing and able to do so.
