Crynodeb
We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our team at our nursery in Edgbaston, providing high-quality care and education to young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and creating a nurturing, learning environment. The applicant must have NVQ Level 3/BTEC National Diploma or equivalent and have experience of delivering the EYFS with under 5's.
We are extremely proud of what we have achieved at Cheeky Monkeys Nursery since it was established in 2000 and we are very passionate about Early Years. We are a learning community so there will be opportunities for further training and professional growth. We have obtained 3 consecutive OUTSTANDING grades from OFSTED
Our nursery is registered for 45 children from birth to 5 years and are open from 8am to 6:00pm 5 days per week. Hours will be based on a 37.5 hours per week with 5 weeks paid holiday per year.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning and development
- Provide personal care to children, including feeding and changing
- Communicate positively and effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Manage the classroom and ensure a safe and stimulating environment
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching practices
- Demonstrate teaching skills in guiding and supporting apprentices
Skills
- Experience in childcare or early childhood education
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding children and young people
- Excellent communicative skills and literacy in English
- Ability to engage with and manage young children effectively
- Knowledge of nursery best practices
- Strong leadership qualities
Cheeky Monkeys Nursery will thoroughly vet all applications and require two excellent references. As safeguarding is priority a DBS will be applied for for the successful applicant prior to commencement of employment, this is in line with the Birmingham Early Years Safeguarding Procedures.
This post is subject to a six month trial period. Regular supervisions and staff training will take place.
The successful applicant will start this position in September 2025
