Job Purpose:Would you enjoy supporting a young man gain independence?
This rewarding role involves working with an 19 year old man. Support him with his needs both at home and when going out, mainly providing companionship, making sure medication is taken and making him food. Some other tasks may be required.
The young man has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), Anxiety and a brain injury, which effects aspects of his physical and mental health.
Location: Watton
Details:
- Promote independence - Full support required
- Encouraging him to get involved with cooking simple meals, everyday tasks, and to try new experiences.
- Ensure medication is taken when required.
- Support with money purchases.
- Promote friendships, going out socially.
- Work closely with the family and assist the family in having a break. Not to change current routine unless otherwise told.
- Go for days out.
- Basic house keeping duties

- Adaptable to change
- Previous experience if working with individuals with ASD or ADHD
- Flexible
- Training in the handling of medication (further training will be provided)
- The rate of pay for this position is £15 per hour.
- You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
- Hours and times of work: 40 flexible hours per month. These hours will be in completed in large blocks following the initial get to know you period. Some weekends and evenings will be required
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
- If this job requires any of the following: manual handling, handling of hazardous chemical, food handling or the handling of medication, you will be required undertake annual training.
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
