Summary

Position: CNC Machinist

Location: Newton Abbot

Hours of Work: Monday- Thursday 8am-4.30pm

Early finish on a Friday 8am-3.30pm

Pay: Willing to negotiate depending on experience

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a CNC machinist specialising in marine propulsion on behalf of their
client.

The Role:
You'll be working hands-on in the workshop, programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines. Familiarity with Fanuc and XYZ controls is essential. Your role will also involve the use of a range of manual machinery for operations such as taper turning, screw cutting, and precision drilling.

Key responsibilities:
* Interpreting technical drawings to manufacture parts to exacting specifications.
* Operating both CNC and manual turning and milling machines.
* Using measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, and height gauges to ensure quality and accuracy.
* Keeping a safe, clean, and efficient workspace

Essential Skills & Experience:
* Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or higher preferred)
* Strong background in CNC machining (turning and milling)
* Competency in using Fanuc and XYZ machine controls
* Confident in setting tooling and working independently to tight tolerances
* Manual machining experience (lathe/mill operations)
