Job Summary:
Suffolk County Council is seeking a highly organized and experienced Personal Assistant (PA) to provide dedicated, professional support to the Service Director and Assistant Director within Children and Young People’s Services. This pivotal role involves managing complex and often confidential matters, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations, and enabling senior leaders to focus on strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Service Director and Assistant Director, including diary management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, and travel arrangements.
• Act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Coordinate and priorities incoming correspondence, ensuring timely responses and appropriate delegation.
• Support the delivery of projects and initiatives within Children and Young People’s Services.
• Maintain effective systems for document and information management, ensuring compliance with Council procedures and data protection requirements.
• Liaise across departments to support collaboration and maintain positive working relationships.
Essential Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant at a senior level, ideally within a public sector or children’s services setting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital meeting tools.
• Knowledge of local government structures and children’s services would be an advantage.
