Applicants for this post should have a minimum of 5 Years post graduate clinical experience, and a minimum of 3 years specialist MSK related Band 6 experience, and have HCPC registration. We are looking for someone with specific skills and experience of managing patients with complex presentations.

Disclaimer: As a Bank Worker, the nature of your engagement will be seen as on a day-to-day basis. You are entitled to choose whether to accept engagements which will be offered to you. A statement does not constitute a contract of employment, nor is the Trust under any obligation to offer you any engagement or further engagement under these terms. The job description for this Bank role relates to the equivalent substantive position. Whilst engaged by the Trust you would be expected to operate within the requirements of the job description.

The post holder will be required to liaise closely with GP’s, Secondary Care Consultants and other Clinical Leads. The post holder will be expected to both lead and contribute to teaching, service improvement initiatives and actively participate in continuous professional development activities.

Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise a caseload of complex patients are essential. Supervisory skills are also required for the clinical support, direction and development of rotational staff, apprentices and students. The post holder will also require excellent time management and interpersonal skills. You must be able to demonstrate sound clinical skills working as an effective team player within a musculoskeletal service.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff support, and benefit from the excellent Band 5-7 clinical staff we recruit, develop and maintain.

Enhancing development of the MSK Physiotherapy team is a key part of the role as part of fully engaging the workforce, to ensure clinical quality stays central to the delivery of the service and ongoing improvements.

We strongly support professional development, and manage to support most Band 7 Physiotherapists to do masters level study.

The DCH FCP team is closely aligned with the Musculoskeletal out-patients physiotherapy team, and shares in service training and team building opportunities. We prioritise your professional development, and you will receive weekly check in meetings with the lead therapist for the service to ensure you are fully supported whilst establishing your FCP role.

We are a Trust that celebrates diversity and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We would welcome applications from people in groups which are under-represented in our organisation.

• You will educate others on the role of an MSK clinical specialist and patient care pathways.
• You will assist the service lead in using local and national evidence-based practice to develop suitable research and audit programmes evaluating the effectiveness of MSK physiotherapy.
