Network Infrastructure Engineer

Hybrid, Hook OR Birmingham (travel to various sites required 2-3 times per week)

£40,000 - £50,000 plus car allowance and benefits

40 hours per week Monday – Friday + on call rota approximately 1 in 7 weeks

The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group. This includes the following divisions BCA UK, We Buy Any Car, cinch, BCA and CarNext Europe and Marshall.

Our roles support both a cross section of divisions or could be dedicated to a single division. This provides a unique opportunity to experience a diversity of teams, technology, and businesses across C2B, B2B and B2C. We are growing and are on a key digital transformation journey.

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will become a vital part of our group network team and will be expected to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot our networks across the UK. In addition, experience with traditional infrastructure will be useful to aid our local IT teams with modernisation efforts.

Key Responsibilities


Implementation of new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Installation, configuration, and support of network equipment including SD-WAN appliances, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and similar infrastructure
Investigating faults in the network, working collaboratively with local IT teams
Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Function as a Subject Matter Expert to our UK businesses in relation to network and infrastructure topics
Collaborate with group architecture to design and implement network solutions
Create and maintain detailed documentation of project implementations, network designs, and configurations
Ensure compliance with local legal obligations and regulatory standards


Key Skills


Proven hands-on network engineering experience
Understanding of fundamental networking concepts
General IT Infrastructure experience including servers, virtualisation, storage, backups etc.
Experience working in project teams
Knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies such as MPLS and SD-WAN
Experience with deploying and managing branch firewalls and switching
Experience with Wi-Fi Technologies, especially Cisco Meraki & Ubiquiti Unifi
Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skill
Ability to convey a professional image and deal confidently with technical problems.
Ability and experience working with vendors and service providers
