About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into the classroom to deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of a Teacher. You'll ensure learning continues smoothly, students stay on task, and behaviour is managed effectively. No two days will be the same and your presence will help ensure student's learning is never disrupted.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Lessons: Lead pre-set lessons in a variety of subjects while ensuring learning objectives are met.
  • Maintain Order: Promote a calm, focused classroom environment through confident behaviour management.
  • Student Engagement: Keep pupils engaged and supported in their work, answering questions and guiding progress.
  • Support School Culture: Uphold School expectations and ensure consistency in student behaviour and learning.
  • Feedback & Reporting: Collect student work and provide relevant feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.

Requirements
  • Previous School Experience: Ideally, you've worked with Key Stage 3 (KS3) or Key Stage 4 (KS4) students in a secondary School setting.
  • Confident Classroom Presence: Skilled at maintaining focus and managing behaviour with a confident, composed approach.
  • Clear Communicator: Strong verbal skills and the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS: On the update service or willing to apply for one.
  • References: Two recent professional references from education-based roles.
