Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in the daily management of kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality food production.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient teamwork and high morale.
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations.
Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials that reflect current culinary trends.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
