Manchester School Health Service Recruitment Opportunities

Band 3 School Nurse Assistants – Screening Team

We are Manchester Local Care Organisation - an exciting, new public sector organisation that is bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in the city. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries.

Our School Nursing teams work to design and deliver services in partnership with local people. We also provide key services that work across wider localities and the city-wide footprint. We believe that our pioneering approach will make a massive difference to the health of people in our city and we are looking for you to join our team and help us do this.

We’re committed to achieving the highest standards of individual care for our city’s diverse communities. At the heart of this is the ‘Healthy Child Programme’ which, through early intervention, will positively influence health outcomes for children and families in Manchester.

As a result of service transformation an exciting opportunity has arisen in Manchester’s School Nursing service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic School Nurse Assistant who wants to make a difference by working as part of a team to deliver the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) and the core screening programme offered at school entry.

37.5 hours Term Time Only

You will expected to contribute to the planning of the NCMP and Core Screening Programmes to school age children in a variety of settings under supervision.

To work as part of a team to deliver the NCMP and Core Screening programme in schools and other settings

To accurately record and document the outcome of the tests undertaken as part of these programmes, making appropriate referrals if indicated; and advising parents of the outcome of such tests; and explaining and supporting parents to understand any action/intervention required

To provide administrative support in relation to all aspects of work undertaken within the Manchester Child Health record.
