We are seeking applications for Practical Support Assistants (PSA) to provide one-to-one support to our students. PSAs provide support for students with additional learning needs, including physical, sensory, or learning disabilities.
The role will assist the student in communicating with people and engaging with activities as they move around the University, assisting them to access the University’s resources including the library, workshops and studios. At times, the role will involve directing the student to further help from support staff, if and when needed. There will likely be an element of note-taking during briefs and tutorials to ensure the student is aware of the work they need to complete.
The successful candidates will be able to communicate calmly and clearly, have excellent organisational skills and have up to date knowledge of welfare and educational issues. They will also have up-to-date understanding of support related to autism and specific learning disabilities and will have experience/an understanding of providing support for neurodivergent people.
Full details of the essential and desirable criteria for this role can be found in the job description.
Please note CVs will not be accepted for this position. If you would like to apply for this vacancy, please click the 'apply' button where you will be redirected to our website.
