You will be part of a small, professional team monitoring and managing all aspects of traffic on our highway network. A key part is ensuring that we recover all income relating to street works and highway permits.
You will be auditing, reviewing and analysing performance and compliance relating to network management as part of the Council’s contract management model. You will recommend and support contract management decisions relating to statutory undertaker performance.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Cheshire East Council’s Highways team. It’s an exciting time for our Highways service. We’re undergoing a big change, expanding our team with new roles so that we can continue to work effectively on developing our services.
You’ll be joining an energetic and committed team with a great sense of purpose. We manage the council’s Highway Service Contract, working collaboratively with our service provider to improve highway services in the borough. We’re looking for experienced highways professionals who can deliver under pressure. You’ll also have excellent communication skills, being able to explain complex information concisely to a wide range of people. Most of all, you’ll thrive on getting the job done as part of a team.
Within the highways team, you will play a key role in working with our service provider to manage activity on our highway network. This includes analysing and monitoring the performance of statutory undertakers to ensure safe working. You’ll also help make sure we recover income from Highway permits and licences, as well as supporting developing and implementing a Lane Rental Scheme.
If this sounds like you and delivering high-quality services for our residents is your passion, then we’d love to hear from you.
The role includes a generous annual leave provision, flexible working arrangements and entry into the Local Government Pension Scheme, as well as being part of a great team.
Please see the attached job description and additional information in the applicant pack. Closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 30 June 2025.
