Crynodeb

We are looking for an experienced PA to support an autistic adult in their 20s to
maintain their independence and build on their existing personal and social skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to work flexibly while making a real
difference to someone’s ability to live their best life.

Job description
You will be supporting an autistic adult in their 20s to plan and carry out a range of
everyday administrative and domestic tasks within their own home.

These will include (but not be limited to) help with:
• Budgeting and everyday financial tasks (tracking payments, paying bills, planning spending).
• Communication in general, specifically phone calls and emails, and managing official correspondence.
• Motivation around essential tasks to keep things on track.
• Planning and progressing domestic tasks (such as cleaning, laundry) and home improvements (exploring options, placing orders, tracking deliveries).
• Managing health and welfare (i.e. making and attending appointments: help with medication not required).
• Planning and organising short trips and holidays.

They would like to develop the skills to plan and undertake journeys by public transport,
particularly those that are more complicated or require using trains and other methods of
transport.

Person specification
You will be positive, able to think out of the box, and committed to helping people identify
and progress towards their goals and ambitions.

It is ESSENTIAL that you are:
• Trustworthy and reliable.
• Numerate and financially competent.
• Understanding of autism and the impact of neurodiversity on everyday living.
• Respectful of difference and personal space.
• Able to take the lead when necessary.

It is DESIRABLE that you:
• Are currently supporting, or have previously supported, someone with autism.
• Know the benefits and entitlements that relate to disability.
• Understand how to safeguard the rights of people with disabilities.

Hours and rate of pay
There is a high degree of flexibility around when hours can be worked provided last minute changes are avoided.
The number of hours is likely to vary depending on the task, but will aim for a guaranteed minimum of 4 hours and maximum of 12 hours per week. Support will be in person unless otherwise agreed.
Pay will be £16.00 per hour for the right person.
