Full Job Description
Duties include preparation of Indian & Nepalese Curry dishes to order; ensuring quality standards for curry dishes prepared; being responsible for the presentation of curry dishes, its sauces and other accompaniments that are served to customers; cooking dishes according to special dietary requirements of the customers; portion control; changing and introducing Indian/Nepalese curry dishes in the menu; training other chefs and kitchen staff to prepare curry dishes when required; training waiting staff to answer customer queries regarding curry dishes; stock controlling and reducing wastage in his section of the kitchen; ensuring safety & hygiene standards in his section of the kitchen.Will be responsible for marinating and tenderising meat, seafood and vegetables with infusion of specialist spices and other fresh ingredients to make specialist Indian/Nepalese curry dishes; etc.
Requirements:
Experience in Indian cuisine, particularly curry preparation, is essential.
Knowledge of traditional cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients used in Indian curries. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong organisational and communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Total weekly hours of work: 37.5 - 48.0
