Summary
Do you have great customer service skills? Are you interested in developing your experience in Retail in a unique visitor attraction in Manchester?
About us and the role
We aim to grow visitors' 'science capital' and engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). The Science and Industry Museum's Retail Team continues the audience journey by providing a seamless experience into its varied retail outlets.
To help continue that journey for our diverse visitors, we're looking for a Retail Stockroom Assistant to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
As part of our Retail team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our shops are fully stocked, beautifully merchandised, and ready for the day ahead. You'll be handling deliveries, processing stock, and maintaining high standards across our outlets-making sure everything's where it should be, when it should be.
This opportunity is made for people with great organizational skills who thrive on the satisfaction of a job well executed.
About you
Whether you've already got stockroom experience or are looking to build a career in retail operations, we'd love to hear from you!
At the Science and Industry Museum, we're dedicated to helping our team grow, and we know that colleagues get the most out of their time with us when they are supported, engaged and able to be themselves.
Alongside your impressive customer service and communication skills, you will have the capability to develop meaningful connections while working as part of a group. You'll also be well-organized, with effective time management skills and the motivation to work with self-direction when needed. A methodical approach to handling stock, attention to detail, and confidence using IT systems like Word, Excel, and EPOS will enable you to perform effectively in this role.
As the role involves some physical activity, such as lifting and moving stock, you'll need a good level of physical fitness-but don't worry, the right equipment and support will be provided.
