Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Advanced Surgical Practitioner to join the team assisting a team of Consultants and Specialist Registrars across a range of Orthopaedic, Elective and Trauma procedures. As well as General Surgery procedures
This position may require Trustwide working across our Trust sites including Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Hexham General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and North Tyneside General Hospital.
Please note - Hexham General Hospital will be the base site for this post.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care under the direction of the senior nurse/SODP
To assist in the provision of nursing care and maintain high clinical standards
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. Develop over time and contribute to the management of a clinical area and take charge in the absence of Senior Nurse/ODP

This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries
