Senior Support Worker
Montpellier, Sunderland – 37.5 hours (Full Time) Salary: £13.15 per hour - Closing date for completed applications Friday 20th June 2025
About the service:
Montpelier Terrace is a service that houses up to 4 people. The service is across 3 self-contained flats. The service provides 24/7 staffing throughout the year. Individuals that live at Montpelier Terrace are supported to develop their independence skills within the home and community. This includes domestic chores, food shopping, laundry and budgeting. Community skills may include volunteering, accessing college, travel training, positive risk taking, social groups and recreational activities such as bowling, cinema, walking. Support is offered via 1:1 and also within groups during social activities dependent on individuals’ needs, wants and aspirations.
It is desirable that applicants be experienced in delivering outstanding care and support to autistic adults. The ability to model best practice in all aspects of your work at all times is essential. Experience of shift leading and supervising a team would be beneficial, as is a proactive approach to all matters relating to the delivery of an efficient and responsive service. You will have a defined role within the team, assisting the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager in managing all aspects of the running of a busy and vibrant house. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of a senior on-call rota for the service. You will be required to deputise for the manager and others in the senior team, in their absence. You will need to be flexible, to suit the needs of the people you will be supporting. A qualification relevant to the role, or the willingness to work towards achieving one is required.
