• Generating income from council services through charging, trading and investment
• Securing external funding and working in partnership to support investment in our communities
• Increase capital and revenue returns for the council through investment in housing and economic growth
• Enhancing the council’s commercial culture and capability
We are seeking to recruit a Financial Services Manager to build upon our sound financial management and develop a team to support our vision and help our people, communities and businesses to reach their full potential.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Assets (S151) you will be responsible for the leadership and performance of the Financial Services team and provision of strategic and procedural financial advice to the Council.
This role will work closely with the Section 151 Officer to ensure effective and efficient financial information is delivered and will also work closely with the wider organisation in ensuring value for money is embedded throughout.
You will support the Director of Finance and Assets (S151), in the development and delivery of the Medium-Term Financial Plan, its policies and strategies.
This post requires a CCAB qualification, and have experience of working in a fast paced, challenging environment and can demonstrate considerable experience of financial and operational leadership and a financial knowledge of accounting standards and codes of practice in Local Government.
Effective communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to lead, manage and influence people is also highly advantageous.
