Are you an experienced and compassionate nurse ready to take on a leadership role? We’re looking for a Band 7 Ward Manager to lead our dynamic team on Magnolia Ward at Clayponds Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on patient care and drive improvements in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Clayponds Hospital is a 70-bed, medically-led rehabilitation unit providing personalised care to patients recovering from acute illness, regaining function, & preparing to return home and back to their communities. Magnolia Ward is one of our multi-pathology wards, where we care for patients with a wide range of conditions. As Ward Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations, leading a team of dedicated nurses and healthcare assistants, & ensuring the delivery of high-quality care tailored to individual needs.

We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage and inspire a team, & a passion for delivering patient-centred care. You’ll be a role model for your team, providing support, mentorship, & guidance to both experienced staff & new team members. Your ability to think critically, solve problems, & ensure that patient safety is always a priority will be key to your success in this role.

As Ward Manager on Magnolia Ward you will ensure effective ward management and high standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team, providing mentorship, ensuring professional development, and managing staffing levels.

Clinical Governance: Oversee patient-centred care, conduct audits, and address clinical issues to maintain compliance and safety.

Operational Management: Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; manage budgets; and maintain accurate records.

Collaboration and Communication: Work with healthcare professionals, liaise with patients and families, and ensure clear communication with senior management.

Health and Safety: Maintain a safe environment, adhere to infection control protocols, and address incidents promptly.
