What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors of Woodfield Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support/Teaching Assistant to work in our friendly, successful and welcoming school.

We are looking for someone who is willing to take a full and active role in the life of the school and be part of a hardworking and committed team. The post holder will work as a Learning Support Assistant across school, supporting children in class, in 1:1 and small group situations. The successful candidate will have the experience and/or the ability to support children with additional learning needs to make appropriate progress relevant to their individual targets and action plans. You will have the ability to form positive relationships with children and families, focused on individual learning need. The role may also include delivering intervention support programmes as school need dictates. Up to 10 hours will be spent working in our very popular afterschool wraparound care club, Treetops. You will work under the direction of the Headteacher/Assistant Headteachers, class teachers and school SENCO.

Hours of work:

Mon-Fri: 8.45-5.30

Visits to the school are warmly invited and recommended, and can be arranged with Mrs Ellison, School Office Manager.

Completed application forms can be emailed to admin@woodfield.wigan.sch.uk or returned by post to Woodfield Primary School, Wigan Lane, Wigan WN1 2NT. Please mark them for the attention of Mrs Elaine Ellison, School Office Manager.

This post is subject to Enhanced Disclosure Procedures. Wigan Council and the School Governing Body are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. A full/enhanced DBS check will be undertaken before an appointment is confirmed.
