What skills and experience we're looking for
We have a vacancy for a professional, effective and enthusiastic administrator to join our happy and hardworking team in our large Church of England junior school. We require someone who can multi-task, has excellent inter-personal skills and shows initiative. Ideally you would have school office experience and so be familiar with Arbor’s School Information Management System, however, training can be given to the right candidate.
The post-holder will work as a member of our office staff team providing general administrative support with specific responsibility for:
• Managing our operational finances including purchasing resources and managing income from parents, wraparound care and lettings (cashless)
• Arranging residential and school visits, liaising with external companies and supporting the Educational Visits Coordinator
• Co-ordinating lettings and instrumental lessons, maximising the opportunities available to our children
The successful applicant will:
• Be a strong team player
• Have fantastic communication skills and a caring approach to children and adults
• Have confidence in dealing with a diverse range of people both on the phone, face to face and in writing
• Have excellent problem solving skills, alongside the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a constantly changing environment
• Have excellent IT skills – competence in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Be confident and pro-active in using effective systems in a busy school office
• Be able to remain calm and unflappable
Due to capacity within our existing team , our vacancy is available for 30 hours per week during school hours, 11am to 5pm daily. Our admin team work the 39 weeks of school term time plus one additional week, arranged collaboratively with colleagues, spread over the school holidays. Salary will be based on experience and will start within the C Grade range of £24,405 to £25,430 FTE which equates to £17,359 to £18,088 (pay award pending).
