Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeper to join a warm, relaxed, and friendly family home on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is proactive, trustworthy, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and supportive household environment. The ideal candidate will be friendly, confident, and comfortable working both independently and alongside mum on occasion.
Key Responsibilities
• Full housekeeping duties for a 3-bedroom home, including cleaning, tidying, and general upkeep
• Running errands such as shopping, collecting prescriptions, visiting the bank or post office
• Making and changing beds, laundry management, and basic garment repairs (sewing/mending)
• Refilling household products and organising cupboards
• Occasional light gardening (e.g., weeding and planting in a small easily maintained garden)
• Pet care – brushing and grooming the family cat during summer months
• School runs and club collections for a 9-year-old (occasional)
• Assisting with heavy lifting and shopping tasks
• Light administrative support – including gift buying and wrapping
• Rare assistance with children’s homework or school projects
• Potential for extra hours during school holidays, including helping to supervise children on outings
Requirements
• Proven experience in housekeeping or similar roles
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Friendly, approachable personality with good communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
• Flexible and adaptable to family needs
• Trustworthy, reliable, and punctual
• Confident driver with access to a vehicle preferred
• Willingness to commit to a long-term, stable position
• Must be happy to interact with a sociable and outgoing household
