Job Description
Position - Management Team Member
Part Time – 18hrs per week
Salary £ 15,912 per annum
Responsible to the - Board of Trustees
Location – Based at West Chadsmoor Family Centre, Cannock
Who we are
• We are a charity based in West Chadsmoor in Cannock, Staffordshire. We have been operating for 29 years.
• We began life as a 3year project started by the Pre-school learning alliance. To help children who did not access childcare or nursery to become school ready.
• After 3 years we became an independent organisation. We are now a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.
What we do
• We operate as a Family Centre which incorporates parents, grandparents, children, older siblings in school holidays and the wider community at some of our activities.
• Our offer a programme of parent and child activity sessions. They offer children play and bring parents together to break isolation and build friendships.
• We also offer a set of targeted activities for families needing extra support including an informal parenting programme and story craft to improve children’s language and ABC which is a group for parents with newborn babies.
• Extra to this we offer adult education to the parents and provide a creche, a free brunch club and a community food table and we have our own allotment. We pack a lot into our small building and have a good following from the local community.



About The Role
You will be working as part of a management team working alongside two other managers and reporting to our board of trustees.
Your main responsibilities will be to support the delivery of the funded projects secured by WCFC. There will be a number of single responsibilities and a set of tasks which will be shared by the rest of the management team. You will come together at regular meetings to discuss the centre as a whole and the team responsibilities.
The management team are responsible for the day to day operating and running of West Chadsmoor Family Centre, to plan and design what we offer to parents and children who attend our sessions, to oversee health and safety within the building and make the environment safe for everyone who enters the building and to monitor safeguarding and ensure any concerns are recorded and reported to the safeguarding team where relevant.
Main Duties

• To ensure that quality activities are provided for the children and families
• To: liaise with the board of trustees and arrange regular meetings and ensure a two-way communication system.
• To respond to the needs of the families attending the centre
• To build relationships with the staff and volunteers
• To contact families and understand their needs.
• To: source and write funding bids to keep the centre going with its activities.
• To be the link between the board members and the staff at the centre.
• To be aware of current legislation on childcare and employment law.
• To organise and attend board meetings and any subgroup meetings as necessary.
• To implement and monitor policies in conjunction with the board of trustees
• To work in partnerships with other agencies and organisations and attend meetings as necessary.
• To collect information to meet outcomes and record progress.
• To be able to cover sessions where necessary
• To go shopping for supplies
• To promote the family centre in a positive way
• To source information for families where needed







Team Duties

• To be responsible for the day to day running of the family centre
• To establish and maintain relationships with families attending the centre
• To develop a varied programme of activities for families
• To collect all relevant statistics and information to fulfil the obligations to funders
• To operate a monitoring and evaluation system.
• To offer as appropriate a programme of training and support to volunteers, staff and parents.
• To attend in service training as required
• To be aware that some hours may be on a voluntary basis when completing one off tasks.
• To produce collective reports
• Ensure all records for the projects are maintained accurately and are kept up to date.
• As a team to plan and deliver projects.
• To attend training, supervisions and team as required
• To support the promotion of the projects
• To discuss as a team any issues that may arise.
