The Role
An opportunity has arisen to join the Council’s Joint Waste Management section, working in partnership for both East and North Hertfordshire District Councils. The role is primarily field based with the main office in Buntingford and will require the successful candidate to monitor and review the Council’s various waste management contracts which cover waste, recycling, street cleansing services and public conveniences.
We are looking for someone with a passion for the environment, who can help us to create a better, cleaner environment for East & North Hertfordshire, and help us to achieve our net zero carbon targets.
Every day is different and varied, dealing with resident queries, work requests, and carrying out environmental quality inspections across the district.
The Experience you will bring
You will have an interest in the environment and waste management. Bring a proactive approach to problem solving and be confident in dealing with difficult conversations and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, residents and other stakeholders. You will be working as part of a team in a multi-functional service environment. You will want to promote and encourage the councils services and encourage participation. You will need to have a driving licence; works vehicle will be provided.
About Us

We put people first and deliver sustainable services, to enable a brighter future together.
