Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and adaptable clinical psychologist keen to develop experience, knowledge and skills in working in paediatric surgical specialties. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the paediatric surgical psychology provision to provide assessment, formulation and interventions in innovative and compassionate ways in a fast-paced acute health setting.
This is a Band 8A post but could be offered as a Band 7 preceptorship. As a department we offer a full preceptorship development program supervised by the senior psychology team to support development to Band 8A.
Psychological Health Services is an award-winning department, recognised for a commitment to leadership and the development of Trustwide psychological services. As a university teaching trust research and quality improvement forms part of UHBW's mission to support excellence in delivery of patient care, alongside education and applied research of the highest quality.
To develop and provide specialist clinical health psychology services for children, young people and their parents and carers cared for by surgical specialities based on assessment of psychological needs. Care will be delivered through direct and indirect clinical work based in outpatient and inpatient clinical settings.
To provide formal and informal teaching and training for other professionals on psychological knowledge and skills applicable in the direct and indirect care of children, young people and their families with physical health conditions.
