A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

Are you an HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with experience and skills in adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders? Are you working at Band 5 or Band 6 level and ready now to further grow and develop your specialist skills as part of our established Integrated Therapy Hub in Oldham? If so, we are excited to welcome you to join our supportive and friendly team.

We are looking for an SLT who is competent to work autonomously with adults who present with dysphagia and communication difficulties. Ideally you will have a dysphagia qualification and experience of working in a community setting.

Every day is different! You will manage a caseload of patients assessing and making a clinical judgement of their condition and needs. You will create and implement individualised Speech and Language Therapy treatment programmes.

From your induction and throughout your time here you will enjoy robust clinical, peer and management supervision alongside regular team meetings and in service training. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the hospital acute SLT team, and develop competencies in objective assessments such as videofluoroscopy. We can offer flexible working options. Come and join our small team of friendly and supportive speech & language therapists. We look forward to welcoming you!

To provide a specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment service within the clinical areas of adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders (dysphagia) to clients at home, nursing homes or in clinic. The service is integrated with several community therapy teams and includes close working with dietetics, community stroke and neuro rehab, physio and OT. The post holder will liaise with a wide range of professional and external agencies to ensure efficient, high quality patient care with regular support and peer supervision from a small friendly team. The post-holder will have opportunities to develop skills related to objective assessments and to work closely with the acute SLT team.
