1:1 SEND Tutor Wanted – Make a Real Difference
Location: Various locations across Liverpool
Pay: £30 - £35 per hour
Contract: Flexible – Part-time or Full-time opportunities available
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Do you have experience working 1:1 with learners who face challenges in mainstream education? We want to hear from you!
We are an established education agency providing bespoke 1:1 tuition for young people who are currently out of formal education. Our students may be:
• Permanently excluded from school
• Awaiting placement in a SEND provision
• In care and requiring alternative education support
We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with children and young people with a range of complex needs, including:
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Trauma
• Medical needs
What You’ll Do:
• Deliver tailored, engaging 1:1 tuition sessions (usually in the student’s home or a safe, local venue such as a library)
• Build trust and rapport with students who may have had negative experiences of education
• Work closely with our education consultants, parents/carers, and local authorities to support reintegration or transition
• Adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each learner
✅ What We’re Looking For:
• Minimum 6 months experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 or small group setting
• A calm, empathetic and resilient approach
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and the ability to support students with complex emotional needs
• Ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging learning sessions
• Flexibility, reliability, and a genuine passion for inclusive education
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
