Summary

CAHSS/School of Divinity
Part-time: 28 hours per week
Fixed-term: for 13 months
We are looking for Teaching Fellow in Religious Studies (Theory and Method and Islamic Studies) to organise and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate course materials (including online delivery) and assist with the supervision and assessment of dissertation students.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will have specialist knowledge and teaching experience in Theory and Method in the Study of Religion, with an ability to teach Islamic Studies and Islamic History. This post is available from July 2025 – August 2026, part time temporary cover, fully funded by Leverhulme Trust.
This post will cover teaching in the School of Divinity to include but not limited to:
- Studying Religions
- Theories of Religion
- Theory and Method in the Study of Religion
- Science, Sorcery, and Wonder in Islam
The appointee will be expected to take a share of the administrative and management responsibilities of the subject area and to play a full part in the collegiate life of the School of Divinity.
This post is part-time (28 hours per week).
The salary for this post is £40,497 to £48,149 pro rata, per annum.

A strong demonstrable knowledge of relevant subject area
Ability to design and deliver course materials and assess student performance
A thorough knowledge of current trends within the discipline.
A PhD in a relevant discipline.
