Pay rate: £20.86 per hour PAYE
The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an Assistant Health And Safety Advisor to support the lead Health and Safety Manger to deliver health and safety advice to the organisation and support the maintenance of health and safety requirements for the Council’s offices and buildings.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance.
Support risk assessments and workplace inspections across a variety of departments and service areas.
Contribute to accident and incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up actions.
Deliver training sessions and briefings to raise awareness and promote good health and safety practices.
Provide first-line advice and support to managers and staff on day-to-day health and safety matters.
Help maintain health and safety records and contribute to audits and compliance reviews.
What the client is looking for:
A recognised Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent) or working towards it.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation, preferably in a public sector or similar multi-service environment.
Experience in supporting the delivery of health and safety services or related functions.
Confidence in engaging with a variety of stakeholders, from frontline staff to senior managers.
A proactive and problem-solving approach with good attention to detail.
